Creating art, Being art
Have you been told that after the storm comes the sun?
Of course you have; I think we’ve been hearing it since we were little. Well, the other day I read that there are always storms and always suns, constantly appearing in our lives, because that’s what lives are like: cyclical. They say only women live by our cycle, but the truth is that all people, regardless of who we are or of our cis gender, absolutely all of us are cyclical; it’s just more marked in women because of our period. That’s looking at it simply, because in our lives cycles can last much longer than just a month. Everything repeats, whether in days, months or years, but we always come back to the same thing, to parts of our storms and to our life being happy. It’s normal to feel lost, just as it’s normal to feel like king of the world sometimes. Today all that’s left for me is to be grateful for what I have, for those around me, for those who have left and for those who give me their love and support every day.
We made these little photos to feel good about ourselves, to bring out the ideas that keep popping up, so that you can see them and feel things the way we did while making them. It makes me very happy to create art, to be art and to belong to it. And even if it isn’t valued the way we’d all like (obviously we all want to be famous), I’m at peace knowing you saw it and said wow, how wonderful.

As if you were two, but no. They’re just two sides of you.
When it seems that depending on where you are you’re one, and if you move you’re another…
They search. What do their senses say? Is what they see real? Or is it just an illusion?
Don’t let them confuse you, nor let them get confused.
The ability to adapt, versatility, every possibility and no possibility.
In instants, it seems something fades… Does it really disappear?
They want to make the ephemeral eternal, but reality is fragile and perception can be confusing.
Sometimes they forget how delicate life is. At what speed do you experience it?
Did you mark a life, or did life mark you?
Were you real, or did you remain idealized in the eyes of others, expectant, eager to receive something from you that you didn’t even want to be? Do the senses deceive, or do you deceive people?
Did you deceive yourself?
Don’t ask me to be one or the other; I’m even more… Sometimes, maybe neither.
The responsibility of inhabiting yourself in complexity.
Take your path and transcend, between lights and shadows, between darkness and a blinding flash. Between rests, movements, passing refuges, tension and discomfort.
Or maybe do nothing; you decide.
