Happiness, should I be?
Truly happy… That’s what I wanted, what I longed for, I wanted to be happy, but… but you didn’t come, you never did.
I ran, as fast as I could. I ran so much I lost my shoes, very expensive shoes your mother gave me, but what do they matter now that you’re gone and you broke my heart for the last time and forever.
My crying led me to a pond, where I stripped off that damned wedding dress I had bought with so much hope for you, for us, for me.
I spent hours in that pond; I became part of it. The fish and frogs watched me from afar until they understood why I was there… I needed to get your scent off my body, your eyes out of my eyes and your memory out of my head.
Luckily, it was a bit warm that day.
