Metamorphosis

Since last year

I’ve been going through a metamorphosis in my life, which intensified in 2018.
I met Pralad by chance. His photos captivate anyone, and they captivated me. Every time I saw one of his works I felt a tremendous urge to be photographed by his talent, but the little inner ghosts crept into my mind. I always wanted to strip down and break that social taboo they instill in you at every stage of your life. I got scared, I worried, but I knew I had to do it, and I decided to listen to that inner explosion screaming at me to break those mental and social barriers.

Metamorphosis

During the whole session I was part of a place so wild, spontaneous and free that I managed to blend in among so much nature: leaves, earth, sounds and wind on my body. Everything flowed and danced around me. It couldn’t have been more magical and perfect.

That hot January day, as we walked toward Cerro San Cristóbal, I felt a tingling all over my body and tried to channel all the emotions of that moment. He chose the first “set” so passionately that I could swear he connected to the fullest to photograph me in a place I could say was my environment, my essence turned into landscape.

Since that day, that very personal sense of love for revolution and for free, natural nudity was born in me. Without meaning to, Pralad’s art brought out in me the deepest intimacy and delights. The solemn and the vital: I took ownership of every feeling and sensation.

After the second session, “Bondage”, I felt an animal projecting itself through my eyes. That inner animal imprinted itself on my retina; it came out and won’t go back to its place, it will stay with me. I felt almost like NATALIE PORTMAN in “Black Swan”.

That’s why I think exhibiting the naked body in public is a battle cry for freedom, peaceful and quiet, but so clear that it’s impossible to ignore; because nudity, when it isn’t commercial, scares people. Let’s stop being so scared and start to flow and connect with what surrounds us.

Pralad, you don’t teach with words, you teach with your art.

Eternal thanks!!
