Blind Justice
Even without justice on our side, we have each other to hold one another, to keep each other company, to lift each other up, to stand up and fight, without fear. Because when they snatched away justice, they also took away our fear. We were left exposed, with nothing more to lose.

My relationship with my body has always been horrible. As a teenager I had an eating disorder that was very hard to get out of, and to this day it’s very hard for me to see myself in a photo, much less naked. But I look at all of you, and each one is so, so beautiful and unique that it brings me a little closer to the day I can think the same about myself. Pralad, thank you for making the session such a safe place where, even naked in the asphalt jungle that is downtown Santiago, we felt comfortable ❤️

You’re all super brave, awesome, and you’ve stopped being captives of your fears and of the things that had been hurting you.
My story is that of a survivor of psychological and economic abuse in my last relationship, years ago, and this comes to crown the closing of a cycle, of that story and everything I went through. The relationship I have with my body today is very different from back then, and you all made everything so much easier.
Today the fears are gone and I want to do so much that I don’t know where to start
It’s amazing that one small, great revolutionary act can change our lives ❤️🔥✊🏻

Phew! All I’m flooded with is gratitude, to all of you! Everything you write moves and enriches me.
I’m grateful to be part of this change in how we think and feel about what it means to be a woman. We’ve been loaded with a sexual role built on strong social constructs that have limited and attacked us for years; it makes me enormously happy to be tearing down part of them with you. Thank you. @Pralad, for creating these moments, for having that naturalness and flow when you photograph, which turns getting naked into something comfortable and powerful. That power multiplied today! That energy that comes from camaraderie, love and respect for who we are should never have been dimmed, and never should be.

Today I felt the strength of the collective. When strangers look after you, hug you and take away a bit of the weight of fighting alone, you feel what we want for everyone: freedom, equality and love.

“Art is a battle. And in art you even have to risk your skin. Because what would life be if we didn’t have the courage to try new things?”
Love and respect to the 24 suns who made this possible 💜

We are
breaking new ground,
claiming
our name,
our schedules,
our age,
treasuring it,
embracing the changes,
changing.
We are powerful💜

I found that this kind of space helped us a lot to feel loved and embraced by our own gender, without knowing each other. Ever since I discovered Pralad I’ve wanted to be in one of his photos, and today I felt so good (between the nerves and the anxiety), because I never imagined what it would feel like, and how great you all made me feel. It’s hard to love yourself these days, but we were all there, freely showing our bodies without being judged. I’m very grateful, Pralad, for always making us feel trust. It was such a pleasure to share this with all of you💜 seriously, my heart is so full from looking so many times at how beautiful the photos turned out.

Inhabited by words
I write from my skin,
I document
its memory of suns
and lightning.
From my bones
that gather memories
in bark of rain.
My hair
is long silences,
my smiles
short kind phrases.
I treasure verbs
in my muscles
to dance – in my knees
to fly – in my feet
to dream – in desire.
To laugh – in my gaze.
Nostalgia
open horizons,
golden winds,
over the summer of my skin.
I write
about the fear that invades the city
and settles in my nerve endings,
about the countless injustices
that tighten my ligaments.
My body pronounces
grave words,
muffled conjugations…
my cells throb.
Despite the bad weather
my heart
glimpses new worlds.
Maritime memories
tell my story
as a woman
inhabited by words.

This year in particular I’ve traveled a lot through my inner self. Rarely in my life have I done the things that truly make me feel good, safe, determined, empowered, happy. Heavy, isn’t it? For much of my life, a life of 31 years, I’ve made decisions so as not to be judged, to fit in, because not feeling discriminated against makes me feel good. This experience of being naked, blind, alongside other naked and blind women, showing the vulnerability of being, the essence, without layers, has made me feel I wasn’t the only one on this path, and that deep down, there, without armor, we are all there to embrace each other, to hold and support each other in vulnerability. Naked, blind, but without the chill of fighting alone, because there is an embracing warmth from the companion next to me, even the one I don’t know. There are no longer decisions made so as not to be judged; there are decisions to keep pushing myself (ourselves) to be who we are. Thank you for this warmth; may it never go out.
